Hospitals geared up to serve patients during traditional New Year holiday
PANO – As the Lunar New Year holiday is coming, central hospitals and Hanoi city have been making thorough preparations for providing services for the people, especially medical emergency services, before and during the festivals.
Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien has required hospitals to maintain its shifts around the clock, aiming at providing services without any delays. Blood supply should be in stock to serve any treatment, especially injury cases caused by traffic and other accidents.

Hospitals such as Bach Mai, Viet Duc (Vietnam-Germany), the Vietnam National Heart Institute, the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion… have all prepared their plans for the Lunar New Year holiday. Accordingly, Bach Mai Hospital has assigned around 350 medical staffs to being on duty during the holiday while Viet Duc Hospital has also increased the number of its doctors, nurses and other staffs on duty 24 hours a day. The Vietnam National Heart Institute will provide medical emergency and treatment services as ordinary days. The National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion has even prepared Tet for its patients, who cannot go home, to welcome the Lunar New Year at the institute.
The Hanoi Municipal Department of Health has required its hospitals and medical facilities to ensure 24/24 medical services for the people, making overall medical plans to respond to any epidemics or emergencies that may occur during the holiday.
