The 2010 mass wedding |
A mass wedding of 80 young couples will take place in HCMC on November 11th by the Ho Chi Minh Youth Support Centre.
80 couples are staff, workers and teachers with low income, who are now working in industrial zones, export processing zones, offices, schools and businesses in the City and surrounding areas.
Apart from the wedding party, couples will parade on flower-decorated cars through main roads, pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Statue and take photos of scenery in the City.
Each couple will receive a VND 2 million ATM card, a pair of wedding rings, worth VND 4 million, and necessary things for the wedding. The organising panel will present a house to a needy couple with great contributions to labour or social movements.
“This is a rare opportunity for youths. The wedding will be an unforgettable moment for couples. The wedding will combine traditional with modern factors”, said Huynh Ngo Tinh, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Youth Support Centre.
