Free heart disease screening for children in Tuyen Quang
PANO - On July 8, in Tuyen Quang province, the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) and Tam Long Viet (Vietnamese Heart) Fund, in coordination with Vietnam Television and the Tuyen Quang Provincial General Hospital, organized a free screening for children under 16 years old suspected of having congenital heart disease in the province.
This marks the third occasion that the "Heart for Children" program’s organizers have launched the free congenital heart disease screening for children in Tuyen Quang.

According to the plan, on July 8 and 9, all children under 16 years old in Tuyen Quang province suspected of having congenital heart disease received free screenings and consultations from specialized doctors.
After the screening, cases requiring intervention/surgery and those in needy circumstances will be guided by the organizers of the "Heart for Children" program to prepare necessary documents for completely free treatment.
After 15 years of implementation, the "Heart for Children" program has supported over 6,500 pediatric patients with surgery and organized 87 free screening congenital heart disease programs for over 150,000 children nationwide. The average surgical cost per case is VND 40 million.
