Earlier, squid fishing boat QNg 95834 TS, captained by Nguyen Dinh Truong from Quang Ngai province, ran aground about 5 nautical miles off the Southwest of Phan Vinh Island.
After receiving the mayday signal, Naval Squadron 129 sent Ship 741 to the scene.
The ship approached the troubled boat, gave fishermen first aid and asked relevant agencies to take them ashore.
* On the same day, the Infirmary of Sinh Ton Island conducted surgery on a patient with acute appendicitis.
Fisherman Nguyen Thanh Trung, from Tam Quan commune, Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province, who worked on board trawler QNa 90956 TS, suffered from severe abdominal pain. The boat’s owner then immediately took him to Sinh Ton Island Infirmary.
After diagnosing the patient, medical personnel on Sinh Ton Island decided to operate on the patient.
It took the team nearly two hours to perform the operation. The patient is now recovering.
