Distressed fisherman rescued at sea
PANO - Ship SAR 274 of the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (Vietnam MRCC) brought an injured fisherman ashore for further treatment in Da Nang on late June 8.
Earlier, on the morning of the same day, fisherman Le Van Trung, 1974, from Gio Linh district of Quang Tri province, on trawler QT 90352 TS was seriously injured while fishing in the waters in the South of the Gulf of Tonkin.
As the patient fell into a comma due to heavy bleeding, the captain called for help.
On receiving the mayday signal from the trawler, the Vietnam MRCC sent Ship SAR 274 with a medical team to the scene.
It took the rescuers five hours to reach the fishing boat. They then provided first aid and shipped the sick fisherman ashore.
