At the meeting with the delegation from Can Tho city, Lieutenant General Do Can, Deputy Director of the Genera Department of Politics, briefed the delegates on military units’ operations and said that over the past years the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense have actively made recommendations to the Party and State to issue and conduct policies for troops and their families.
He stressed that through practical activities, military units have contributed to the whole Party’s efforts in taking good care of policy beneficiaries and revolutionary contributors.
Units in the whole military also conducted various gratitude activities. They visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiaries and revolutionary contributors, took good care of Vietnamese heroic mothers and built and repaired houses.
At present, Can Tho has 38,046 revolutionary contributors, of which 6,607 people received monthly allowances.
On behalf of the delegation, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs Chau Hong Thai thanked the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense, and troops in the whole military for their care for contributors in the city and promised that they will make more contributions to social-economic development and the building of strong political bases.

While receiving contributors from Vinh Long province, General Can congratulated the locality on its recorded achievements over the past time and expressed deep gratitude to the support of its leadership and people for the military in both wartime and peacetime.
During the resistance war for national salvation, people and troops united and promoted indomitable spirit to contribute to the South liberation. In peacetime, the province has overcome difficulties to record large achievements, contributing to the development of the nation.
He hoped that delegates will promote revolutionary spirit and make active contributions to socio-economic development and the building of strong political bases.
