The plan was announced at a press conference held on July 29 by the Da Nang city Association for Victims of AO/Dioxin, the city Military Command, the city Veterans’ Association and other partners.
The program aims to disseminate information about and raise awareness of the severe consequences of AO/dioxin, and at the same time to arouse compassion and sharing of the whole society, as well as to call on more spiritual and material support for victims of AO/dioxin to overcome difficulties to rise up in life.
During the program, apart from typical artistic performances, there will be short reports, exchanges with victims of AO/dioxin and gift-presentation to 30 disadvantaged AO victims.
Up to now, more than 220 units, organizations, and individuals have donated cash, kind, necessities with a total value of over VND 1.6 billion to the organizing panel.
A portal 19001022 is available until August 10 for organizations and individuals to donate.
As envisaged, at the program, the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin Central Committee will launch a text message program in which each text DACAM to portal 1409 contributing VND 20,000 to the fund for victims of AO/dioxin.
On the occasion, the Da Nang city Association for Victims of AO/Dioxin and other partners will hold a memorial ceremony for AO victims, present 160 gifts worth nearly VND 100 million to AO victims, and organize visits and give gifts to the families of AO victims in the locality.
