AIA Vietnam gives 2,600 bikes to needy children

PANO - The National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) and the AIA Vietnam Life Insurance Co. Ltd (AIA Vietnam) launched the “Real Life Journey” program on September 9 in Binh Duong city, to fundraise money to buy bicycles for disadvantaged children.

The program received support and collaboration from the National Committee for Traffic Safety, the provincial People’s Committee and Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.
At the event, AIA Vietnam presented donations, worth VND 230 million, including 70 bikes and 5 five education insurance certificates (worth VND 20 million each), to 75 disadvantaged children in the province.

Wayne Besant, CEO of AIA Vietnam, held that the program contributed to providing underprivileged children with schooling opportunities.
Binh Duong is the 9th province after Bac Ninh, Thai Binh, Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Nam and Gia Lai provinces to benefit this program in 2016. This year’s journey will include 12 events across the country and the organizing panel will present 1,070 bikes to underprivileged children nationwide.
“Real Life Journey” was co-launched by AIA, NFVC and authorities nationwide in 2014. To date, over 2,600 bikes were presented to disadvantaged children nationwide.
