A ceremony to confer and bestow posthumously the title “Vietnamese Heroic Mother” to 103 mothers and present the Independence Order to 18 families was held by political organizations of Quang Tri province on August 28.
In the two resistance wars against French colonialists and American imperialists, ten thousands of eminent people of Quang Tri province volunteered to go to the front. Thousands of them sacrificed their flesh and blood for the national salvation cause and at the same time, numerous mothers and wives made quiet contributions to the success of the resistance wars for national reunification.
So far, the province has 2,653 Vietnamese heroic mothers and 645 families awarded the Independence Order.
Meanwhile, Military Hospital 7 under the Logistic Department of Military Region 3 provided free health checkups, health counseling and medicines to 400 policy beneficiaries in Vinh Hoa commune, Ninh Giang district, Hai Duong province. The hospital’s medical personnel also teamed up with the Military Industry-Telecoms Group Viettel’s branch in the province to present gifts, totally valued at VND 25 million, to 50 typical national contributors in the locality.
Gifts were also presented to people with disabilities and victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Dat Do and Xuyen Moc district of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province by the Phuoc Hai Border Post under the provincial Border Guard Command.
The gift presentation demonstrated the border guard force’s support for the needy in border areas and on islands. This significant and practical activity aimed to help ease part of the recipients’ difficulties in life.
