Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education Vo Van Thuong speaking at the conference

Participants at the event reviewed results of the information dissemination on external affairs, national seas and islands, and border demarcation and landmark planting in 2017. They all agreed that the central agencies and ministries and sectors paid due attention to enhancing their leadership on the work; collaborated well with the Naval Service Command, the Border Guard Command, and the Coast Guard Command, and mobilized all forces to successfully fulfill their missions.

They noted that several press agencies, including the People’s Army Newspaper (PAN), were major organs in the work.

Concluding the conference, Mr. Thuong reaffirmed the important role of the external affairs information service in the new context, and urged relevant agencies to continue embracing higher levels’ instructions and resolutions as well as fostering their management on the work.

In addition, he asked them to promote creativity and flexibility, apply information technologies and improve staff competencies, contributing to heightening the effectiveness of the external information service to fight wrongful allegations of hostile forces.

At the event, the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education awarded certificates of merit to 20 groups and 14 individuals, who made outstanding achievements in the implementation of external affairs information service.
