VUFO reviews task performance in H1
PANO – The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) held the ninth meeting of the Permanent Board of the fifth Presidium (2013-2018) on June 26 in Hanoi.
According to VUFO Vice-President and Secretary General Don Tuan Phong, the meeting was important as it reviewed VUFO’s implementation of missions in the first six months of this year while rolling out missions for the last half of the year and approving important contents, including the organization of the sixth VUFO National Congress for the tenure of 2018-2023.
In the first half of 2018, foreign relations work of VUFO and its affiliated organizations was renewed, combining economic, trade and culture promotion and other fields. Besides, the mobilization of aid from non-governmental organizations was paid due attention to and effectively implemented. VUFO has completed the draft plan for the National Program on the mobilization of foreign non-governmental aid in the new period (2018-2025) and is inviting opinions to amend the program to submit to the Prime Minister for approval.
Addressing the event, Vice-Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu held that in the coming time, Vietnam’s foreign relations activities should be conducted more effectively in both scope and scale with detailed activities such as participation in people’s forums, application of IT to disseminating information on external relations activities and the Party’s and State’s guidelines and policies.
