PANO - The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and Microsoft signed a strategic cooperation agreement on boosting consultancy on, provision and implementation of key information technology (IT) projects on July 7th in Hanoi.

The signatories are VNPT’s Deputy General Director Luong Manh Hoang and Microsoft Vietnam’s CEO Vu Minh Tri.

It marks Microsoft’s additional important step and commitment to support the Vietnamese Government and other organizations in Vietnam in raising IT capacity and to optimize IT implementation and use for organizations and enterprises in Vietnam.

Developing IT, IT and telecom infrastructure in order to bolster IT research and development is one of the Vietnamese Government key goals.

As a leading trusted consultancy group in the world, Microsoft has put forward a strategy suitable with Vietnam’s IT development plan by 2020 with a focus on assisting Vietnam in strengthening and building advanced IT foundation.

Under the newly-signed agreement, Microsoft and VNPT will cooperate in cloud computing, information security and safety and smart city.

Addressing the signing ceremony, VNPT’s official stressed VNPT’s application development in the cooperation fields which Microsoft have much experienced in and carried out in different countries from all over the world. Therefore, the hand-shaking between the two sides would bring about more products and applications for a prompt, effective and cost-saving implementation.
