Set up in October 1977 by Military Zone 9 and located around 9 km from My Tho City, Tien Giang Province, the Dong Tam Snake-raising Farm has been so far recognised as the first and the largest museum of snakes in Vietnam, with around 40 kinds on show.

At first, the farm was a centre for doing research, breeding snakes, preserving precious pharmaceutical materials, processing medicines and curing snake-bite victims in the Mekong River Delta. Now, it is an interesting destination for both Vietnamese and international visitors.

Visiting the farm, visitors will have an opportunity to see hundreds of various kinds of snake, including non-poisonous, poisonous, and precious snakes, such as python, cobra, viper, and so on.
