Vietnam strives to boost women’s role in the armed forces
PANO - The Vietnamese Party and State have always strived to improve policies and laws to ensure gender equality and empowerment for women, thus creating favorable conditions for them to access and take part in more aspects of social life, including improving their role and position in the armed forces, said spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang.

Hang made the statement while answering reporters’ queries about women’s engagement in the Vietnam Coast Guard Force. The Q&A took place virtually at the ministry’s regular press conference on July 8.
She affirmed that Vietnam's efforts to ensure gender equality has been recognized and highly appreciated by the international community.
She stressed that in different positions, female coast guards have always completed their assigned tasks, contributing to realizing the Party and State’s political commitment as a responsible member of the international community. They are always ready to join hands to deal with international issues and maintain an environment of peace, security and stability for the sake of cooperation and development in the region and the world.
