All six members of the Vietnamese team won medals at the 53rd International Mathematical Olympiad in Argentina, earning Vietnam the 9th place in the top ten nations.
Dau Hai Dang, a 12th grader from the High School for Gifted Students of the Hanoi National University of Education bagged a gold medal.
Three silver medals were carried off by Nguyen Ta Duy, Nguyen Minh Phuong and Nguyen Hung Tam all are 12th graders from Hanoi.
Meanwhile, Tran Hoang Bao Linh, an 11th grader from Ho Chi Minh City and Le Quang Lam, a 12th grader from the central province of Thanh Hoa took bronze medals.
This year’s International Mathematical Olympiad from July 2-18 drew 548 contestants from 100 countries and territories.
