PANO – The Vietnam National Defence Strategy Institute and UNESCO Vietnam co-organized a scientific workshop on late Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Minh Thao in Hanoi on December 28th.

Reports delivered at the event highlighted General Thao as a talented, brave, creative, and decisive commander with high sense of responsibility and discipline. He had devoted his whole life to the revolutionary cause of Vietnam’s Party, State and people.

He is the author of various valuable works on Vietnamese military strategies, arts of warfare and command and leadership.

General Thao was the commander of the Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) military campaign.

He was honoured with the Ho Chi Minh Order and Ho Chi Minh Award for his contributions to the country.
