Rwandan President Paul Kagame said he believes his visit to Vietnam would help foster friendly, solitary and cooperative ties between Rwanda and the Southeast Asian country.

The president made the statement in a talk with Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh in Hanoi on May 26 before concluding his four-day official visit to Vietnam.

He commended Vietnam’s achievements and experiences during the renewal process as well as its increasing international status.

The President spoke with Party General Secretary Manh about the outcomes of his discussions and exchanges with Vietnamese leaders, stressing that his country wants to further boost the relations and cooperation with Vietnam.

The Vietnamese Party leader said Vietnam values the consolidation and development of its relationship with Rwanda in potential mutually beneficial fields as well as peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

He said that Vietnam is willing to share experiences of agricultural development, poverty reduction, education and training with the African nation.

The Rwandan President wrapped up his official Vietnam visit at the invitation of State President Nguyen Minh Triet, by extending an offer to Vietnamese Party General Secretary Manh to visit Rwanda.
