PANO - The organizing panel of the “Operation Healthy Heart” program received more than VND 12 billion from units and benefactors nationwide, in an exchange reviewing the program’s seven years of operation on the evening of September 27th in Hanoi.
During a live broadcast, attended by Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan and co-hosted by Vietnam Television and military-run telecom group Viettel, the audience heard of the program’s difficult but sentimental routine, and watched the first-ever music video with performances of a number of domestic and international singers and artists to appeal to the community to support the program.

According to the organizers, the program has been backed by more than 8,000 individuals and groups at home and abroad. With donations of nearly VND 90 billion over the past 7 years, 2,700 underprivileged children under 16 suffering congenital heart diseases have received free heart surgery so far.
Most recently, this September, the organizers provided health check-ups for 1,500 children in poor districts of Gia Lai province, and received more than VND1 billion for heart surgery via an SMS texting program.
Also at the event, the organizers unveiled the program’s goal of conducting heart surgery for 3,000 poor children with congenital heart diseases and checking the health of another 30,000 by 2020.
They also called for more support for the program via sending financial support to the following address: Vietnamese Heart Fund of Vietnam Television at 43 Nguyen Chi Thanh, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi, or to the account No. 001 11 001 29 008 (for VND) or 002 11 004 66 004 (for USD) of the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB)-Hanoi. Another way to donate money for this program is to text TTCE to 1408. Each SMS contributes VND 16,000 to the program.
