PANO – The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) presented the 2016 Ta Quang Buu awards to three scientists for their outstanding achievements in physics, earth science, and environmental science on May 18th in Hanoi.

Present at the event were Chu Ngoc Anh, Minister of MOST, Phung Xuan Nha, Minister of Education and Training, and representatives from relevant agencies.

Established in 2014, the annual event honors scientists for outstanding research work in natural science and engineering. This promotes scientific research and science and technology at the international level, paving the way for the country's science and technology integration and development.

The three award-winners were Prof. Nguyen Van Hieu from the International Training Institute of Materials Science (ITIMS), Prof. Nguyen Ngoc Minh from the University of Science under the Vietnam National University Hanoi, and young PhD. Phung Van Dong from the Institute of Physics under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.
