The event was held to mark the 91st founding anniversary of the Party (February 3) and welcome the 13th National Party Congress in the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, among others.
At the event, the organizing panel presented one special prize, five A prizes, 10 B prizes, 16 C prizes, and 27 consolation prizes to outstanding reporters. The special prize belongs to the 90-episode documentary series “Vietnam in the Ho Chi Minh Era – Televisual Annals,” made by the Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper. The series was broadcast on Vietnam Television and other television channels.

According to organizers, the 5th edition received 1,710 entries in various genres with the focus on issues of public concern, such as preparations for and the organization of all-level Party congresses in the run up to the 13th National Party Congress, the COVID-19 pandemic fight, and natural disaster response.
Speaking at the event, permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong highlighted the quality of entries this year and affirmed that they have contributed to helping people understand more about the Party and Party building and revamping work and consolidated the trust of officials, Party members, and people in the Party. Participating articles also helped Party leadership to be aware of shortcomings in Party building and revamping work, so as to work out measures to raise the effectiveness of the work in the coming time.
Vuong asked Party committees, the fatherland front committees, and organizations at all levels to create favorable conditions for press agencies to disseminate Party building and revamping work and urged reporters to produce quality works for the 6th edition.

At the event, the Steering Committee of the National Press Awards on Party Building honored reporter Phan Quang and three outstanding figures in winning articles.
On the occasion, the steering committee and organizing panel launched the 6th National Press Awards on Party Building.
