Present at the ceremony were the National Assembly’s Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and Secretary of the Hanoi City's Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi.

In spring of 1789, Emperor Quang Trung’s troops moved at a lightning speed from Hue to Hanoi to defeat more than 290,000 Chinese Qing invaders in a battle on the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, liberating the Thang Long Imperial City.

On this occasion, a two-storey temple worshipping the emperor, located in the Dong Da Park, was unveiled. The 700sq.m first floor displays historic objects and the 320sq.m second floor is the emperor’s altar.
