N.A. Chairman Tran Thanh Man delivers closing remarks at the N.A. Standing Committee's 56th session.

He stressed that the first session of the 16th N.A. holds particular significance as it will decide on State organizational structures, high-level personnel matters and five-year plans, while also undertaking legislative work. All draft laws and resolutions will be adopted under the one-session procedure despite the limited time.

The N.A. Chairman, therefore, urged all relevant bodies, particularly those of the N.A. and the Government, to make full use of the remaining time to finalize reports, proposals and draft laws and resolutions with the highest quality and consensus before submission.

He emphasized that the 16th N.A. term must maintain strict discipline in law-making, with special attention to legislative quality. The N.A.'s supreme supervision and the Standing Committee’s thematic oversight should focus on pressing social issues and promptly recommend solutions to competent authorities.

With only four days remaining before the opening of the session, the N.A. leader requested the N.A. General Secretary and Chairman of the N.A. Office to urgently incorporate feedback from the Standing Committee and complete all documents for deputies before the session begins.

The N.A. Office was also tasked with thoroughly reviewing preparations for the first session, including facilities, technical infrastructure, information technology systems, digital transformation conditions, and logistics, security, communications and healthcare services to ensure smooth operations.

Regarding the comprehensive review of legal normative documents, he asked the Government, the N.A. bodies, the Supreme People’s Court and the Supreme People’s Procuracy to promptly implement the Standing Committee’s resolution by developing detailed plans with clear responsibilities and timelines.

The 56th session also marked the final regular meeting of the Standing Committee of the 15th-tenure N.A. Chairman Man highlighted that throughout the term, the committee had maintained unity and close coordination with the Government and relevant agencies to handle a large and complex workload, including many unprecedented tasks, contributing to the overall success of the 15th N.A. and national development.

Although the 15th term is nearing its end, he noted that responsibilities remain significant. Until the new Standing Committee of the 16th N.A. is elected and the handover process is completed, all agencies must continue working with heightened responsibility to ensure continuity and avoid any disruption in operations, he stated.
