More houses for the poor

PANO – The Vietnam Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank), in cooperation with the People’s Committee of Tra Vinh Province, have inaugurated 1,000 houses of gratitude for poor people in the area.
The total investment in the project is VND 25 billion, including VND 20 billion from the bank and the rest from the province’s welfare fund.
After ten months of construction, the project has provided accommodations for more than 3,000 poor people in the province.
Addressing the inauguration, Pham Huy Hung, General Director of the Vietinbank, revealed the bank’s commitment to donate another VND 20 billion and cooperate with local agencies to build an additional 1,000 houses for the poor.
The construction of these additional houses is expected to be completed before the Lunar New Year Festival 2010.
