The UN "90-90-90" targets call for having 90 per cent of all people with HIV to know their status, 90 per cent of people exposed to HIV to receive sustained anti-retroviral (ARV) therapy, and 90 per cent of all people receiving ARV therapy to have viral suppression.
By September 2015, clinics nationwide had given ARV treatment to about 100,000 patients, while the figure in 2005 was only 2,697.
Additionally, they have recommended ARV use in preventing HIV infection, particularly for pregnant women, young children and those who belong to high-risk groups.
The ministry has also issued a circular with instructions on applying health insurance in check-ups and treatment for HIV patients.
