* Addressing a meeting with local people in Dong En residential area, Kim Binh commune, Chiem Hoa district, Tuyen Quang province, Politburo member and Standing member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong asked the local leadership to uphold the spirit of solidarity in conducting emulation movements, especially in building new-style rural areas, improving people’s living standards and infrastructure system.
In addition, local residents should continue to seriously preserve their cultural identity, uphold the local heroic tradition, and boost mutual support among the community to further contribute to the building of the land, he said.
On the occasion, Vuong offered gifts to Kim Binh commune’s authorities and five outstanding households in Dong En residential area. Previously, he and leaders of the province offered incense to heroic martyrs and planted trees at the Kim Binh special national relic site.

* On the same day, General Ngo Xuan Lich, member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Minister of National Defense attended a similar event in Village 6, Chinh Ly commune, Ly Nhan district, Ha Nam province.
Over the past time, the village has actively carried out the “Whole people joining hands to build new-style rural and civilized urban areas” campaign, while seriously implementing the Party’s and State’s guidelines and laws.
Thanks to their efforts, the hamlet’s infrastructure and locals’ incomes have been improved considerably; as a result, the number of poor households has dropped to 11 in the village.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission and Defense Ministry, General Lich presented gifts to 40 beneficiaries and poor families in Hamlet 6.
* At the similar event in Kim Hoa commune, Cau Ngang disrtict, Tra Vinh province, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan congratulated the province on their achievements in reducing poverty, creating more jobs for locals, and taking care of disadvantaged people.
On this occasion, Nhan presented 150 gifts to local poor households, visited and inquired after three policy families in Kim Hoa commune and Superior Buddhist Monk Thach Ray, Head of Kim Hoa-based Ret Mol pagoda.
