The health ministry has affirmed that US company Johnson&Johnson’s personal care products are safe for consumers and the content of formaldehyde and 1.4-dioxane found in these goods are within the permitted level.

The Drug Management Department under the Ministry of Health made the announcement in a dispatch sent the mass media, citing the results of tests conducted by the Ho Chi Minh City Drug Examination Institute.

Earlier, the US-based consumer organisation Campaign for Safe Cosmetics (CSC) issued a warning that chemicals added to some Johnson&Johnson children’s bath products and adults’ personal care products could cause cancer
