PANO - The construction of the 15.63km Tan Vu-Lach Huyen motorway, including a 5.44km sea bridge, will start on February 15th in Hai Phong city.
On February 11th, a contract was inked by the Project Management Board No. 2 under the Ministry of Transport with a joint venture of the Japanese Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Co., Ltd, the Truong Son Construction Corporation under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence, and the Civil Engineering Construction Corporation No. 4.
The over VND 11,800 billion motorway, using Japan’s ODA and domestic counter fund, will have a 10,19km path and 4 lanes.
Once completed, the 5.44km sea bridge will be the longest of its kind in Vietnam and one of the longest in Southeast Asia.
The Tan Vu-Lach Huyen motorway project is an important part of the project to build infrastructure for Hai Phong international gateway (Lach Huyen Port). The project aims to link developing areas in the east of Hai Phong city with Lach Huyen Port, Dinh Vu industrial park and Ha Noi-Hai Phong Express, contributing to reducing travel time and expenses.
This motorway is expected to be completed by early 2017.
