General Luong Cuong (third from left) hands over the second-class Independence Order to Bac Son district |
80 years ago, under the leadership of the Party, the Bac Son Uprising broke out with the participation of a large number of people, starting political and armed struggles for power throughout the nation. The uprising was an important historical event in the resistance war for national independence of the nation as it helped build Bac Son Guerrilla Unit, the first revolutionary armed force of the Party. The unit served as a foundation for the establishment of national salvation squads 1, 2, and 3, the predecessors of the Vietnam people’s Army.
The indomitable spirit of the people in the Bac Son Uprising has inspired the people in the revolutionary land of Lang Son to record more achievements to enrich the tradition. Over the past time, Lang Son has overcome all challenges to develop its economy, raise its people’s educational standards, and improve living standards of ethnic minority people in the province.
Speaking at the celebration, General Luong Cuong highly appreciated and congratulated the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Lang Son province on their achievements over the past time. Cuong asked the Northern Province to uphold its revolutionary traditions and take comprehensive measures to fulfill all socio-economic development plans, defense and military consolidation, and Party and political system building targets.
He also urged the locality to fully tap its potential and advantages in order to boost trade, tourism, and the agricultural industry while continuing to improve the business and investment environment to attract more investors. In the near future, the province should successfully hold the 17th Congress of the Party Organization of Lang Son province for the 2020-2025 term.
Authorized by the President, General Luong Cuong handed over the second-class Independence Order to Bac Son district.
Earlier, the Director of the General Department of Politics and delegates offered incense and laid wreaths at the Martyrs' Memorial Temple and Guerrilla Statue in Bac Son district.
