PANO - An unexploded ordnance (UXO) clearance project was recently kicked off in Hong Dan district, Bac Lieu province, by Lung Lo One-Member Co. Ltd. 3 of the Lung Lo Construction Corporation under the Ministry of National Defence, in cooperation with the district People’s Committee and the provincial Military Command.

By the end of 2015, the company will make safe more than 3,500 hectares of arable land, construction plots and irrigation canals.

The project is part of the National Action Program on Overcoming Post-war Aftermath of Bombs and Mines (Program 504 in short). Tens of thousands of tonnes of UXOs are buried underground in Hong Dan, a revolutionary base during the resistance war against American imperialists.
