The is the fourth event to be organized to pray for the peaceful soul of those who were killed by road accidents and in response to the 2015 World Day of Remembrance for Victims of Road Traffic Accidents which falls on November 15th.
Addressing the ceremony, Minister for Transport Dinh La Thang said that in Vietnam, each day there are around 24 deaths and 60 injuries due to traffic accidents. This not only causes big losses and pain to victims’ families but also leaves a burden to authorities and society in dealing with consequences of traffic accidents.
The Minister for Transport called upon central and local agencies, units, organizations, and individuals to raise their awareness of traffic safety and strictly observe traffic laws as well as share losses and pain with the people who lost their relatives in traffic accidents.
On this occasion, the State Traffic Safety Committee and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha presented gifts to victims’ families, expressing empathy with them.
