Presided over by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, the Government’s monthly meeting on May 3 discussed four important issues, including the budget balance in 2005, a draft on the Government’s resolution on building and upgrading the crumbling residence, a project to issue Government bonds on the international market and results of administration reform in April and in the past four months.

At the meeting, after hearing the Minister of Construction report on the real situation of crumbling residence nationwide, especially in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the Government agreed to build and upgrade all these crumbling residence. The Government will issue a specific resolution on this issue, which is expected to be approved at a meeting today.

The Government also approved the project to issue Government bonds on the international market. Accordingly, this year around US$1 billion worth of Government bonds will be issued on the international market.

On May 4, Government members will continue to discuss other important issues, including the results of anti-corruption activities.
