Suggestions for the Party

The draft documents submitted to the 13th National Party Congress compiled by the 12th Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee were made public on October 20, 2020. A month later, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, departments and sectors at all levels organized a number of workshops and discussions to gather comments on the draft documents. Centrally-run relevant agencies summed up and analyzed comments and suggestions from over 1,400 pages of documents sent by Party members and people nationwide and made a nearly 200-page general report.

According to the report, almost all comments highlighted the meticulous, serious, scientific, detailed, and high quality preparations for the draft documents. Moreover, the draft documents put forth various new points and combined theories and realities, reflecting aspirations and expectations of cadres, Party members, and people. Commenting on the draft documents with a focus on the implementation of the national socio-economic development strategy in the 2016-20 period and in the 2021-25 period, Huynh Thanh Phuong, a member of the Party Committee and deputy head of the mission in charge of the delegation of NA deputies of Tay Ninh province, a member of the NA’s Committee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children assessed that the draft documents’ deal with various fields, and bright spots in socio-economic development over the past five years. He added that apart from achievements, shortcomings were also pointed out in a serious and straightforward fashion. These include shortcomings in management at all level, especially public investment management and drawbacks in socio-cultural management relating to urban sanitation, industrial waste, and the spread of harmful cultural information on internet.

Phuong suggested that in the new tenure, the Party and the State should build a streamlined apparatus which operates effectively and efficiently and includes a contingent of cadres with capabilities, good virtues and responsibilities. Additionally, transparency, publicity, and democracy should be promoted in implementing public services. Moreover, Vietnam should make the most of all mechanisms and opportunities to bring into full play its advantages and expand markets.

Following activities closely towards the national Party congress, La Van Nam, Secretary of the Party Committee of Khe Bu village, Chau Khe commune, Nghe An province’s Con Cuong district has often informed locals of the activities and launched emulation drives with active engagement by the locals. Nam hoped that based on opinions contributed by people from all walks of life, the Party will make the right policies to develop the country in which locals enjoy happiness and prosperity.

To realize the goals that the Party expounded in the draft political report of the 12th Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee to be submitted to the 13th National Party Congress, veteran Dinh Quang Tien from Phuc Tan ward, Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem district suggested that each delegate to the congress should raise a high sense of responsibility, a sense of justice, observe the Party’s regulations, and be objective to vote for cadres that the Party needs and people want and avoid group interests and introducing unqualified people to top positions in the Party.

Millions of people are looking to the 13th National Party Congress with the faithful belief that the Party will make new, right, and creative policies to lead the country and its people to achieve glorious victories in the years to come.
