Vietnamese Embassy in RoK assists citizens after fishing boat fire
PANO - According to the Vietnamese Embassy in the Republic of Korea (RoK), a fishing boat caught fire about 70km off the Southeast of Udo Island (Seogwipo City, Jeju Province) at 3:18am on March 4, leaving six crewmembers missing, including five Vietnamese citizens.

After receiving the information, the Vietnamese Embassy contacted the Seogwipo Coast Guards to learn more about the situation. Currently, the RoK’s Coast Guards is deploying forces for the rescue and investigating the cause of the incident. RoK Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun has also directed relevant agencies to mobilize all resources for the search and rescue of the missing crewmembers.
On the other hand, the Vietnamese Embassy in RoK has worked with the employment agency to update information about the situation and inform the missing fishermen’s families.
