Pham Quoc Thang, an Overseas Vietnamese in Kazan, Russia, has donated US$3,000 to support flood victims and victims of the collapse of Can Tho bridge spans.
The sum was handed over to representatives from the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (COVA) in Hanoi on October 18.
Mr Thang, deputy director of the VITARUS company, also granted VND10 million to families of the victims of the Can Tho bridge disaster.
According to Mr Thang, there are about 500 Vietnamese nationals in Kazan, 300 of them working for his company. The Overseas Vietnamese in Kazan always look towards the homeland, he said.
He also revealed that during his visit to Vietnam this time, he will explore the Vietnamese market and seek investment opportunities in the fields of real estate and production.
