Former troops gathered in Southern region
PANO - On March 18, the Liaison Board of the Department of Politics of the People’s Liberation Armed Forces of South Vietnam (PLAF) held a gathering for its members in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Mau Than General Offensive and Uprising in Spring 1968.
At the event, delegates recalled resounding tradition of the Department of Politics under the PLAF in the past. From an office of the Southern Liberation Front founded in October 1961, the department was established in late 1963 with functions of providing advice on Party and political work for the Central Military Commission and the Command of the PLAF.
Addressing the event, Senior Colonel Dinh Quoc Ky, Head of the Liaison Board held that the Department always fulfilled their assigned missions, thus winning the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Force” in 2014 conferred by the State President.
