Free health check-ups for needy people
PANO - Military Hospital 175 under the Ministry of National Defense, in association with An Giang farmers' healthcare fund under Loc Troi (Heavenly Blessings) Group, on July 7 provided free health checkups and medicines for policy beneficiaries, needy students and farmers in Long An province.
This is a practical activity to mark the 71st anniversary of the Vietnam Wounded Soldiers' and Martyrs' Day (July 27).

More than 1,000 policy beneficiaries and needy farmers in Duc Hue and Thu Thua districts of Long An province received free health checkups and medicines from doctors and nurses of Military Hospital 175. In addition, the delegation also presented over 400 gifts to poor people and students. Accordingly, the Military Hospital 175 sent a medical team with modern medical equipment to diagnose and provide treatment to local people. Besides, the doctors also advised people on measures to prevent and fight common diseases, especially in the rainy season. The total cost of program was nearly VND 350 million.
Speaking at the event, Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Tuan, Director of the Department of Politics of the military hospital said that these practical activities reflected the Vietnamese tradition “When drinking water, remember its source.” The two-day program not only helped to take better health care of the needy people but also strengthened people’s confidence in the Party, the State and the military.
