Distressed fishermen rescued at sea
PANO – According to the Search and Rescue Department under the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Border Guard units of Ha Tinh and Quang Ninh provinces successfully took 11 distressed fishermen ashore on February 2.
Trawler HT 90346TS with 8 fishermen on board ran aground and was on the verge of sinking while fishing at sea.

After receiving the mayday signal, the Ha Tinh provincial Border Guard Command mobilized ship HT 1017 of the Vung Ang Petroleum and Oil Joint Stock Company to head for the location for the rescue mission. The ship successfully rescued and brought the distressed fishermen ashore.
Earlier, a wooden fishing boat with 3 crewmembers (without a license plate) was sunk in the fishing ground off Ngoc Vung commune (Van Don district, Quang Ninh province). Receiving the mayday signal, the Quang Ninh provincial Border Guard sent 6 troops to the scene. After an hour searching, all 3 fishermen were rescued and taken ashore.
