The program in Can Gio consisted of various practical activities, such as providing free health check-ups and medicines for more than 3,500 local people, presenting 812 gifts to policy families, national contributors, heroic Vietnamese mothers and needy students and fishermen as well as cleaning up marine environment in Can Gio beach, to name just a few.

According to the General Dong, the program has been implemented by the coast guard force since 2017 in many localities with meaningful activities to support fishermen in fishing offshore, contributing to affirming the national sovereignty over seas and islands.

“The program in general aims to strengthen the relationship between troops and people, demonstrating the beautiful image of the Uncle Ho's soldiers - troops of the Vietnam Coast Guard,” said Permanent Vice Secretary of the Can Gio’s Party Committee Nguyen Van Tinh.
