Coast Guard Region 4 organizes sports festival for troops
PANO – The Coast Guard Region 4 has organized a sports festival to mark the 77th anniversary of August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

During the festival which took place from August 16 to 19, around 100 athletes from agencies and units under the Coast Guard Region 4 Command competed in events, including armed swimming, strong soldiers (100m run, long jump, horizontal bar, 3,000m armed run), volleyball, table tennis, badminton, and tennis.
The sports festival is a regular activity of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command to mark important socio-political events of the nation, the military, and the coast guard force and the Lunar New Year. The event creates a playground for participating troops to meet and learn experience from their peers and to enhance their physical fitness and cultural life. It is also to select and train the best troops to participate in the sports event organized by higher levels in the coming time.
In addition, the event is an opportunity for agencies and units under the coast guard region to evaluate the quality of physical training, thus having new methods to raise troops’ health to meet requirements of mission in the future.
During the festival, participating units and individuals showed exciting competitions. They also received active support and encouragement from leaders and troops of the coast guard region and its affiliates.
