Visiting the families of Pham Trung in Dong An Vinh village and Truong Dinh Ut in Dong An Hai village whose trawlers were sunk during Typhoon Noru, the fourth hitting Vietnam this year, the mission from the Coast Guard Region 2 Command gave them VND 5 million each in support.

Fifty local families badly affected by the typhoon also received VND 1 million each from the mission.

Typhoon Noru made a landfall in Ly Son island district, Quang Ngai province, causing heavy damages to local property, traffic facilities, and farm produce. Some 250 houses were unroofed; nearly 70 hectares of onion in the summer-fall crop were damaged; and two ships and 14 canoes anchoring in storm shelters were sunk. The estimated losses were at over VND 62 billion.

Earlier, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command mobilized hundreds of troops and vehicles to help people in Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Quang Tri prevent and overcome consequences of Typhoon Noru.
