Earlier, at 18:00 on April 7, the unit received a report from Tran Van Su, born in 1969, from Luu Hoa Thanh hamlet, Tan Thuan commune, Ca Mau province. While casting his fishing nets, he discovered two fishermen drifting near the Gia Cao estuary (Dong Giac hamlet, Tan Thuan commune), about 300 meters from his location.

Receiving the information, the unit required Su to bring the two men aboard his trawler, while deploying a team of seven officers and soldiers to the estuary to coordinate rescue efforts, conduct initial health checks, and take the victims safely ashore.

Initial verification identified the two fishermen as Le Van Tay (born in 1985 from Minh Tan hamlet, U Minh Thuong commune, An Giang province), and Son Xong (born in 1983 from Tra Dot hamlet, Tai Van commune, Can Tho city). Their health conditions have since stabilized. The case is being further investigated by Tan Tien Border Station and functional agencies.
