Vietnam Coast Guard reviews its task performance in 2018
PANO - The Vietnam Coast Guard Command under the Ministry of National Defense on January 13 held a conference to review its 2018 missions.
Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense, attended the event.
Last year, the Vietnam Coast Guard implemented comprehensively and effectively all assigned tasks. In particular, the Vietnam Coast Guard Command dealt with situations in line with international law and Vietnam’s policies and laws, while maintaining combat readiness.

Over the past year, the Vietnam Coast Guard detected many foreign ships and boats violating the Vietnamese waters, promptly handled offences at sea and seized valuable goods as exhibits of economic cases, worth nearly VND 400 billion.
Speaking at the conference, Gen. Chiem asked the coast guard force to continue embracing and implementing instructions, resolutions and plans of the higher-level authorities; take comprehensive measures to build a regular, elite and modern Vietnam Coast Guard and its strong and clean Party organization; as well as successfully fulfill all assigned tasks in 2019.
