Vietnam and India expand air force-air defense cooperation
PANO - On November 1 Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, member of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Chief-of-the-General Staff and Deputy-Minister of National Defense received General Birender Singh Dhanoa, Chief-of-the-Air Staff of the Indian Air Force, who is leading a high-ranking Indian military delegation on an official visit to Vietnam.

The Indian visit aims to discuss approaches in cooperation programs to further boost the relationship between the two forces.
At the reception, General Giang expressed Vietnam’s pleasure at the results achieved during a meeting between the two delegations and hoped that all agreed-upon contents would be effectively and speedily implemented. On this occasion, he also thanked the Indian Chief-of-the-Air Staff for creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese Air Defense-Air Force Service to improve its competencies and fulfill all assigned missions. Expressing Vietnam’s delight at the good results in exchange programs between young officers and in other fields, General Giang hoped that the cooperation between the two militaries would continue to further develop in the coming times.
For his part, General Dhanoa expressed his pleasure at visiting Vietnam to learn about the heroic history of the Vietnamese Air Defense-Air Force Service. He believed that the upcoming consultation between the two air forces would contribute to bringing relations between Indian and Vietnamese air forces to a new pinnacle.
