PANO – Prime Minister (PM) Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with the Vietnam sports delegation to the Rio Olympic Games 2016, including military marksman Hoang Xuan Vinh, who bagged a gold and a silver at shooting events in Rio.
The PM applauded the achievements made by Colonel Hoang Xuan Vinh at Rio Olympic Games 2016. The achievements of the marksman and the delegation serve as the springboard for Vietnam’s sports sector to work harder.

The PM then on behalf of the Government hailed the efforts and achievements of marksman Hoang Xuan Vinh and the Vietnam sports delegation.
He expressed hope that from now on the country’s sports sector would make greater strides in both popular and high-quality sports in the international arena. The PM asked the sector to lay more focus on advantageous sports of the country while providing more favorable conditions for coaches and athletes in training so that they can turn their potential into reality, and more achievements can be made in other sports along with shooting.
The PM also required that the sports sector mobilize social resources apart from the State budget, and that it should spend its budget from tax-payers wisely and effectively to facilitate training for athletes so that they feel secure and can whole-heartedly devote their youth and talent to the national sports. He also underscored the importance of maintaining solidarity across the sector as a whole and in each sport in particular to create a favorable working environment for quality coaches and experts as well as excellent athletes like Colonel Hoang Xuan Vinh.
The top government official also asked the Ministry of National Defense to take special care of Colonel Hoang Xuan Vinh so that he can better fulfill his tasks and contribute to training younger generations of firers.
Colonel Hoang Xuan Vinh and athletes of the sports delegation expressed their thanks and promised to train harder and endeavor to bring more success to the sports sector of Vietnam, meeting the expection of the Vietnamese people.
At the meeting, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented the first-class Labor Order to Colonel Hoang Xuan Vinh, the second-class Labor Order to Chief Coach of the shooting team Nguyen Thi Nhung and Friendship Order to Korean Shooting Expert Park Chung Gun for their contributions to Vietnam’s shooting sport.
