PANO – A delegation of relatives of the Cuban martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the independence and freedom of Cuba, led by Brigadier General Delsa Esther Puebla Viltre, Heroine of the Republic of Cuba, visited the People’s Army Newspaper on January 26th.

Speaking at the reception to the Cuban guests at the PAN’s headquarters, Major General Pham Van Huan, Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper, held that Vietnamese people and army have always reserved special sentiment to the Cuban people.
He informed them of PAN’s development since its foundation and underlined its leading role among the political newspapers of Vietnam. Thanks to its achievements and contributions to the country, the newspaper was awarded many noble orders, including the titles “Hero of the People's Armed Forces” and “Labor Hero of the Renewal Period”, according to the host.

The host added that the PAN’s publications have constantly covered updated information about Cuba, its land and people and its socio-economic development over the past time.
For her part, Brigadier General Delsa Esther Puebla Viltre thanked the newspaper for its warm reception and briefed the host on the national construction and defence cause of the Cuban people, and underlined the important role of the unity between the army and the people in the national defence of each country.
She hoped the PAN would continue to give information about Cuba and the bilateral cooperation between the two peoples and the two armies.
