Over the past decade, the naval region has actively conducted political education for its troops, and become the key force in protecting national sovereignty over the country’s Southern waters and islands. In addition, the naval region’s affiliated units provided effective support for fishermen and actively conducted search and rescue missions at sea.

For all its achievements, the unit was awarded with the first-class Fatherland Protection Order by the State President on its 10th founding anniversary.
