Military unit organizes practical gratitude activities
PANO - The Ho Chi Minh municipal Border Guard Command recently held meaningful activities in Bu Gia Map district, Binh Phuoc province, as part of the celebration of its 42nd foundation day.
Accordingly, military doctors of the command provided free health check-ups and medicines for the local people and also collaborated with the Ho Chi Minh City's Women Union visited and presented a gratitude house to Dieu Thi Them, a 30-year-old needy woman in Bu Lu hamlet, Bu Gia Map commune.

According to Phung Hiep Quoc, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Bu Gia Map district’s Party Committee, the district is a poor mountainous area near the Vietnam-Cambodia border. Therefore, people in this area needs more help from society to stabilize their life. Apart from above activities, the command in association with the Ho Chi Minh City's Women Union and Red Cross Society have also assisted locals in finding jobs.
During the two-day program, many needy people, beneficiaries and village patriarchs received free health check-ups and gifts as well as gratitude houses.
Senior Colonel Tran Xuan Lich, Political Commissar of the command, pledged to continue doing similar gratitude activities for the needy in the locality and other neighboring areas.
These practical activities contributed to developing social welfare in border and island areas, building the whole people’s defense posture and beautifying the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.
