Col. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien speaks at the event.

In her opening remarks, Deputy Director of the Department of Political Affairs under the GDP Col. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien stressed that over the past years, thoroughly grasping the Party’s guidelines and those of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, the GDP has led and directed all affiliates to effectively implement mass mobilization work, particularly in mountainous areas and those populated by ethnic minorities.

She affirmed that units under the GDP have thoroughly embraced the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws on ethnic affairs. They have actively coordinated with local authorities and organizations to implement national target programs on new-style rural building, sustainable poverty reduction, and socio-economic growth in those areas. She noted that GDP’s units have also engaged in information dissemination activities to encourage ethnic people to nurture national pride, foster self-reliance, and continuously strive for economic and cultural advancement. These efforts have contributed to strengthening national defense and security, thereby building resilient local communities.

An overview of the refresher course

To ensure the course’s success, Col. Hien urged all participants to uphold a high sense of responsibility, actively study topics, and engage in in-depth discussions to clarify theoretical and practical issues, the Party's and the State’s viewpoints and policies on ethnic affairs.

She voiced her hope that the trainees, with acquired knowledge, would effectively conduct future mass mobilization activities, and resolutely thwart all schemes of hostile forces aimed at undermining the great national unity bloc, thereby building and firmly safeguarding the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the new era.
