During the exchange visit, which took place from February 26 to March 2, the Vietnamese delegation had meetings with Chiefs of Staff of the Philippine Army, Air Force and Navy Maj. Gen. Potenciano C. Camba, Maj. Gen. Aristotle D Gonzalez, and Rear Adm. Jose MA Ambrosio Q Ezpeleta.

At the meetings, the two sides exchange issues of common concern, such as promotion of the role of young officers in the military in general and in army, naval and air forces in particular in performing their duties, developing defense industry, implementing logistics service, military medical affairs, search and rescue operations, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. They also discussed policies to encourage young officers to feel secure during task performance and solutions to minimize bad impacts of the Internet and social media on young officers.

While staying in the Philippines, the Vietnamese delegation visited the Philippine Army Museum, the Air Force Education, Training and Doctrine Command, the military pilot training school, the air force officer training school. They also visited some famous historical and cultural sites in Intramuros, Apolinario Mabini Museum, and Mayon Volcano.

Senior Colonel Tran Huu Dung hoped that through the exchange between young officers of Vietnam and the Philippines, the two sides would further preserve and develop the strategic partnership between the two governments, peoples, and militaries in an intensive and extensive fashion.

The exchange was a good chance to strengthen mutual understanding between Vietnamese and Philippine young officers and youths, share aspirations for maintaining peace, stability for development and prosperity of the two countries in particular, and of the region and the world in general. Through the exchange, both sides shared information and experience in their specialized, studying and working aspects.

Young officers of both countries hoped that the exchange activities will be held regularly in a diverse manner in the time ahead.

At the meeting to review the exchange in the Philippines, head of the Vietnamese delegation highly praised the delegation members for their observance of regulations, fulfillment of the set program, and keeping absolute safety in all aspects. He also spoke highly of their high sense of responsibility, active and pro-active engagement, leaving deep impressions on the Philippine peers and people. He emphasized that the exchange was successful.
