Vietnamese Ship 20 leaves for international multilateral activities in Malaysia and Indonesia
PANO - On May 14, Ship 20 of Brigade 172, Naval Region 3, together with a delegation of the Vietnam People’s Navy, led by Naval Captain Nguyen Quoc Quang, Second-in-Command of the Naval Region 3 Command, left Da Nang city for international multilateral activities in Malaysia and Indonesia at the invitation of Malaysian and Indonesian navies.
The journey aims to enhance and promote the friendship and cooperation relationship between the military of Vietnam and the Vietnam People’s Navy and militaries and navies of ASEAN countries in particular and countries outside the region in general.

In addition, the journey of Ship 20 and the delegation contributes to realizing the directives of the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense on international integration and defense diplomacy; and improving troops’ ability to work together in response to common maritime security challenges.

During the 5,000 nautical mile journey, troops onboard the ship will organize training at sea in order to raise combat readiness, master weapons and equipment, and conduct patrols to grasp situations at sea.
As scheduled, in Malaysia, Ship 20 and the delegation will join activities in the framework of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA), such as naval vessel display, exhibition to introduce career opportunities in the Malaysian Navy, fleet review, LIMA exercises at sea.

Meanwhile, in Indonesia, the Vietnamese delegation will participate in the fourth Komodo Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo (MNEK-4), an international fleet review, and the International Maritime Security Conference.
Besides, Ship 20 and the delegation will also take part in various cultural and sports exchanges in Malaysia and Indonesia.
